KidsGearGuide was founded in 2014 by a small group of moms and dads passionate about child development through play. With the goal of creating a hub of useful information relating to all things kids gear, they came together and our site was born! Run by parents, for parents.
At KidsGearGuide, we review various kid’s gear and compile lists of the best products currently on the market. Being a parent is a tough job as is, our goal is to save you time and help make things easier for you when trying to find the best product. To do this, we look at a combination of product comparisons, consumer opinion, and industry trends. In short – we do all the research so that you don’t have to!
You will also find some useful guide articles on our site. We cover a wide range of topics from safety information to things like how to teach your child to ride a bike!
How do We Choose Products to Feature?
As mentioned above, when deciding on what products to feature we look at a variety of factors to give you a thorough review. These factors include a combination of product comparisons, consumer opinion, and industry trends. As parents ourselves, we also include our own personal opinions.
Are Our Reviews Honest and Genuine?
We’re often asked if we’re paid to publish good reviews on certain products – we aren’t. While we do allow and welcome brands to send us their latest or best-selling products for review, we do not ask for any payment in return for publishing and we don’t change our review to suit a brand.
We’ve found that most brands value our honest feedback as it helps them to improve their products in the future. This benefits you, the consumer, too. Our opinions, views, and ratings are always our own. Added to that, we also encourage comments and personal opionins of our readers on our articles too.
How do We Make Our Money Then?
While we are a group of moms and dads passionate about child development and learning, there are certain costs involved to keep things running. We do need to make money in some way to sustain ourselves. Therefore, instead of displaying spammy ads on our site, we are signed up to be a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. This is a non-obtrusive advertising program designed to provide a means for sites like us to earn money by linking to products on Amazon.com.
In short: when we review a product, we’ll include a button to its Amazon.com listing for you to purchase (if you want to). If you do, we make some money in the process. That’s it!

Caitlin is a former teacher who has become a full-time mom to her three gorgeous children between 7 and 12. She has a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Arts from Acadia University. She can analyze and review our products from the perspective of being a mother and educator. Her background lets her point out the educational and developmental advantages of the products we list and any concerns or advice a mother would have.
Marzanne Immelman
A mom of a feisty 7-year-old, Marzanne has always been fascinated by technology and its ability to enhance our lives. As a mom, she is passionate about finding the best products to help her daughter learn and grow.
